Struggle Setting Up New Internships

I worked on my client project this past week and moved forward with our content planning and website construction process. My client has stayed right on schedule. However, I experienced technical difficulties getting the website up and running because of poor internet speeds and problems with knowing how to upload the theme file. I eventually figured it out, but I will be putting a VPN purchase on my to-do list so that I can work in public spaces. I need to finish up this section of our build and deliver process so we can get that wrapped up next Thursday, so I will have my work cut out for me this week.

The parish website project inched forward this past week as well. I contacted the parish office, and she put me in touch with the man in charge of the parish CMS provider. I contacted him and he informed me that the CMS contract the parish is using has virtually no restyling options. He mentioned that he could see if an upgrade package could be offered that would allow me to do the design work to give the parish a discount. Until the CMS provider updates me with that information, there is not much I can do.

The Boy Scouts website page project has virtually ground to a halt, for the man in charge still has not followed up on the email with the information I need to set up a scope. However, my aunt put me in contact with a mom in the troop who needs her WordPress website updated, and says she is willing to pay. I am hoping that this one goes smoothly, as it seems very promising. I will push to get a project scope for this signed by the instructor ASAP.

So far, I have about 30 hours total for internships – this is not enough, I think! I need to get going on this!

  1. I feel confident you will have enough time. I am at the end of week four with all of my clients. I still have seven weeks left on my projects. I think you will still have time in the next two months to get all of your hours. Don’t get discouraged. Stay strong. I am rooting for you.

    1. Thank you so much! I wish you the best of luck with wrapping up your client projects!

  2. I have had a client that didn’t respond to me after going through and discussing all of the project details. It can be so tough and frustrating, especially when you have an internship that could use those hours! Good luck, I hope your work pulls through and you have an easier time with clients!
